About Me

My photo
@riel Hardwick
I am a fourth year Fine Arts Major at Ringling College of Art and Design. My personality exudes exhilaration. My body of work mostly depicts the elegant form of the female body.I want my viewer to grasp this content on a subconscious level.This is a very important part of my subject matter and I want the viewer to question what they are looking at. Therefore, my work is not very literal and that it displays some ambiguity. My materials are a very important part of my process and so I work with the following materials:powder,compressed charcoal, gel matte medium, and tracing paper.The tracing paper allows me to mask my harsh, abrupt linear mark-making, while activating the piece by playing with the viewer’s overall perception of the subject matter.My process is very intuitive, which is evident throughout my art work. I allow myself to become one with my materials; there are no mistakes, only new discoveries.My subject matter and materials are always evolving and this is great contribution to my growth as an artist.
